Ask God for all of your needs; invoke His name in an emergency; and make all your petitions with a grateful heart

Life presents many bad situations which we at times have absolutely no chance or possibility of pulling out of them. So, what is our alternative? We need to ask God to help us right there and then. Better yet, I believe that it is good practice to thank Him every day for all of His blessings and protection while things are good, and have Him with us when things do go bad.

I feel that keeping God in our minds on a daily basis is sufficient at times to provide us protection. One example where I was a "goner" happened in the Dominican Republic in November 2008. I was going at 70 miles an hour when a car pulled into my lane, heading toward me. The other party was trying to pass a slower vehicle. I had no choice but to react by pulling to the right and avoid a major and fatal collision. I hit the soft shoulder in the middle of a rain fall. The front right and rear wheel landed in three potholes, one after the other. By the third hole, my small rental car was airborne.

When the car came down and hit the ground with a thunderous noise, I would have been thrown inside the car, had I not had my seat belt on. The belt held me firm and tight on my seat. The car did an amazing thing. When it landed, the tires gripped the road firmly and safely; and I was able to take control of the vehicle without spinning out of control. I then reduced my speed, and almost fainted from the shock of knowing that I almost got killed.

Where is God in all of this? He is there all the time, and I think because we place Him in our minds all day long that we can reach for Him in an emergency without hesitation.

Do you take time during the day to pray to Him? Do you think of Him at all, or is it a once-a-year affair at your church, temple or mosque? For many Christians, going to Mass is a chore; praying to God is a burden; and thinking of Him on a daily basis is simply not practical. And yet, when they are in deep trouble and they need Him in the worst way, they scramble to look for Him, or forget about Him altogether.

Our relationship with God should be a normal flowing and lasting one. Start by making friends with Him (if you're not there yet) then let God lead the way. That should make your journey easier; and when you need Him to be with you and to hold you, He will be there; or perhaps you want Him to intervene in your behalf, He will not hesitate to send his angels to your rescue.

Do you ever thank Him for all that He does for you to protect you, to provide for you, and to watch over you and your loved ones? Today is Thanksgiving Day here in the U.S., so perhaps it is a good day to come to terms with God. If not today, how about tomorrow or next day? He has never failed me, and He will not fail you!

If you would like to read my articles on Prayer and Holy Water, they may just give you a new perspective on the power of these two elements which were created for our use. Just reach over to Ezine Articles on this page and click on my articles. Perhaps you have a loved one in need of help, prayer and holy water, so please let them know about it via my articles.

Holy Water for bringing relief to unbearable pain, and to heal

I have used holy water at every instance that I have found a use for it. I will now recommend that you use it to bring relief to all types of pain in your body derived from any form of illness or injury. If the pain is severe and unbearable, place holy water with your fingers moist over the painful area. Do this as many times per day as you wish. I recommend that you do this procedure at least three times a day. Results have always been experienced by me in a few days, and as many as two to three weeks.

If you are under medication for severe pain, you should continue taking it, but now add holy water to bring relief to your pain. Whenever I suffered constant and severe pain from my mountain biking and weight lifting accidents, I would take Ibuprofen, but then I would start immediately to apply holy water to the painful area. I found that the pain diminished slowly but surely within a few days after I applied holy water. Then I would stop taking any form of medication, and I would continue applying holy water to the painful area.

This has been my observation, therefore I want to share it with you. Holy water does work to relieve pain of any degree of severity. If it works for me, it will certainly work for you. Do you have to have a strong faith to get any results.? Let me tell, I had no faith at the beginning of my trials with holy water, and the water did its magic!

Various articles that I have written have attested to the fact that I have found holy water to be very effective in curing pain and healing the injured areas. I have used the water on shoulder, hips, arms, finger, my left knee, and my eye lids. I even use it sometimes to relieve my headaches. I don't drink it, but I rub it with my fingers over the painful area, normally my temples.

Just recently, I used holy water on my left eyelids to cure the eye which had been poked by a tree branch in a biking accident. I placed the water on the outside, and not on the eye socket itself because I found that the water was irritating my eye. It took me three days to get relief, and the eye was cured from the injury. Now when my eyes are tired from typing long hours on the computer, I just dab holy water on my eyelids, and relief seems to come almost immediately.

Should you have someone in your family or friends ailing from a serious injury or a terminal disease, place holy water on the area where it hurts the most. All that you have to say is, "Thank you God for bringing relief to my loved one." I recommend that you do this simple ritual twice a day for as long as it takes for relief to come.

Will holy water cure a disease or a severe illness? I don't have any experience in that. I have used holy water on my sister who is going on 82 years of age, and she suffers from Parkinson disease. For almost two years she was totally under medication, and no one could reach her. When the holy water was sprinkled over her head for several weeks, it worked in getting her home from the hospital. This was a year ago, and I speak with her over the phone every day.

In my experience with the use of holy water, relief came immediately or a few days later. If it was a matter of healing, it took me two to three weeks to see permanent results. The pain would be long gone beforehand, and the healing of the injury was the final result.

I would like for you to try holy water as I have recommended it. I will even get you a small vial of the water that I use from my church and mail it to you as a courtesy on my part. All that I am asking is that you tell me the results. I want nothing from you other than an address to send the water to you. It will be legitimate holy water, and I just want you to try it. Even if it is a last resort effort on your part to bring comfort to you, or a loved one, please do it for me.

When you have nothing to lose, and I am willing to send the holy water as a courtesy, please have faith in it. All that I am requesting from you is an address, even if it is a postal office address, where I can send the holy water to you. You may also go to a Catholic church near your part of the world where they have it available. Just take a small vial and fill it up. Please don't let religion get in the way, if you must try a new route to bring relief to your life.

Please contact me with your request on my email address below. God bless, and my prayers are with you. And do go to my articles on holy water and prayers that I have posted on Ezine Articles right on this page.

How to protect yourself, your loved ones and friends through Prayer and Holy Water

Learning to pray every day for just a few minutes, is something that is difficult for many people. And yet, if you practice praying on a regular basis, you will find that it gets easier every time.

Some people find it a weakness of character to pray, when in fact, it is just the opposite: it is a sign of strength and self-confidence. God does not create weak people, but rather people of strength. Choose to be strong of heart and mind, but be gentle to yourself and those around you.

The most important thing in praying is to pick the prayers that you wish to recite, and preferably daily, and just repeat them once or as many times as you need to. Your religion of birth or choice has the prayers to be used.

As I mentioned in prior pages, to me the Lord's Prayer and the Hail Mary are sufficient for me to take care of my needs. Remember that the most powerful prayers are those that benefit others, particularly our loved ones. When you need to pray for yourself, go for it!

Reading the daily news on my laptop, I find good and I find bad news constantly. The bad is all around when evil people do their harm to society. Why must we pray for our loved ones? Because we can't be close to them during the day and night to protect them ourselves. All three of my children are adults now, and pretty much on their own, and I still pray for them every day of the week, all year-long.

We pray for others, so that no harm comes to them. I place holy water on my kid's digital photos on my laptop throughout the entire week. Why? because holy water is intended to protect, to bless, and to keep the bad elements away from them. I discovered the 'healing power' of holy water a few years back when I used it on my biking injuries. I had no affordable health insurance; so I resorted to holy water out of desperation and unbearable pain on four bad accidents that I had. It worked for me to heal and to diminish the pain totally—and all within a period of one to three weeks max of application of holy water.

13 people, mostly soldiers, died just recently from a random killing in a U.S. Army Fort. We have no control of other people's actions. The most unlikely person in the world to have committed such heinous crime, did the unthinkable—take away the lives of innocent young people. We pray so that God takes over, and protects our lives because we are exposed to everyday events—at times totally out of our control. We place water on the foreheads of our loved ones if they live with us. If they live away from home, you may want to place the cross with your finger moist with holy water on their faces on the digital photos.

Don't be ashamed to believe and to pray to God and to Jesus, his only Son. Use holy water whenever possible, and believe that you have done the best possible to protect your loved ones, and yourself, of course. Should you have a drug issue with one of your sons or daughters, place holy water on their forehead, and simply say, "God bless you and protect you." If they don't allow you because they think it is silly, place the holy water on their photos. Holy water is used to ward-off evil; and illegal drugs and their pushers, are as evil as evil can get. I have lost five nephews to drugs, and three are resting in peace in the cemetery; so I know what I am talking about.

Learn to Value Your Life

A while back I wrote an article on Ezine Articles that I titled "One Life to Live..." I mentioned that many people don't value their lives, thus they go through life thinking less of themselves; or better yet, they live off other's opinion of them, which may not be complimentary.

Regardless of what your current situation might be, your life is worth everything to you, and to those that love you. You might be presently out of a job; perhaps you just broke up with someone; or you recently lost a loved one, and the pain is unbearable. The thought of giving up your life will not resolve anything for you; and in fact, you will bring more pain and sorrow to your family, than whatever benefit you can possible derive from such act.

Here's where prayer comes to work for you. Praying places you in a state of mind so that you can work your way out of anything that you are facing right now. Everything has a solution (within our control), and we have all faced bad situations in our lives; but praying has always, and I say, has always brought me out of the worst of bad situations. The reason is that God is being beckoned through prayer to hear your 'legitimate urgency,' and being His children He cannot refuse.

Make prayer a daily routine as a means to thank God for His goodness; and to take care of your needs and that of your loved ones. No prayer is too small, nor too big for Him to hear and to respond to. However, what I have found over the years that works for me is to stay in touch with God on a regular basis, rather than on emergencies only. This way you will feel more comfortable when asking Him to help you out. Praying daily will become second-nature to you in time; and you will come to appreciate the love of God for your life.

Please go to Ezine Articles on this page and check-out my new article titled "Prayer and Holy Water—The Reason and the Force Behind Them." Maybe you will experience a new perspective on the merits of both elements, which are available to us to be used at our liberty.

Organized Religion—Is it Good For You?

The majority of the world's population is born to a religion; and how we all grow in it is pretty much left to our parents, or guardians. My parents were Catholic, so the eight of us followed their path. Once we became adults, five of us continued attending church, and three are totally against it. And the sad thing is that two of my brothers saw combat in Korea, and my youngest brother was in Vietnam.

Why do people stay away from their religion of birth is a mystery to me. Even when they get married, their spouses follow suit. Sometimes a spouse, girlfriend, or boyfriend will talk the other person out of attending organized church services. And life continues its merry way, and when serious problems creep up all of a sudden, they have a difficult time coping. So they scramble over to their friends for advice; when they should be going to their church's ministry for counseling.

You might have had a bad experience in the past with a 'person of the cloth,' or you didn't like a particular sermon, and you wrote religion off for the rest of your life. Guess what? People switch out from one church to another looking for satisfaction. That's fine, and I suppose it is better than not having any religion at all! However, eventually it is best to settle down for a particular church, temple, synagogue, or mosque, and make religion a part of your life—unless you are an atheist, like a friend of mine is, and he has absolutely no religion at all.

Organized religion, with all its inherent flaws is still better for people than being totally out of the loop. One hour a week for God is fair, don't you think? He give us 24-hour a day service and attention; is it such a bad idea to return one hour of our time per week?

I see more good in people that attend religious services of their preference once or twice a week, than seeing them every weekend watching football, baseball, and other sports the entire weekend—while drinking vast amounts of beer and snacking gigantic portions of high-fat foods. Make a compromise and do both! If you have children, you will set a good example if you place God first in your weekend activities.

It's a choice that we make, and some form of healthy religion is good for the soul. Spending time with God helps to stay focused on life's priorities . Attending organized religious services may do you a world of good. It has for billions of people since the beginning of organized religion.
